We accept Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, bank deposit and PayID (0416177802).

Good discounts are available for servicing three or more bikes at a time. See if you can get some friends and colleagues together at work and have a corporate service day.

We really pull your bike apart and check the internal condition of all moving parts – cartridge and sealed bearings get fresh grease pumped in. We clean areas where earth and water can pool, and spend extra time checking the wheelset health.

The goal here is preventative maintenance, and reviving parts before they cause damage, saving you money long-term.

FLEXIBLE SERVICE:

Don’t need ALL of it done? E.g. Just got new wheels fitted?

No problem –  subtract $30 per bearing overhaul removed from a service. Your bike, your choice.

Suitable For:

  • Everything from the General Service, PLUS:
  • Remove bottom bracket bearings overhauled.
  • Full headset bearing service, forks are removed.*
  • Wheel bearings and freehub overhauled.
  • Minor wheel truing (on-bike).

*Headsets (on triathlon or aero road bikes) that have cables running inside them may present an additional charge as the work can get very complex or time-consuming. Usually, we are expecting up to 20 mins per corner/item.

Pro Service is recommend:

Every 1-2 years if ridden once or twice a week.

OR

Every 10,000 – 20,000km is a good interval for bearing overhauls.

If you pressure-wash your bike, or ride in the wet or mud often, you should get it done sooner.

We're Passionate about Cargo Bikes!

Here at Rapid Wrench, we don’t just service these bikes as our job, they are our lifeblood! We ride and work using cargo-bikes ourselves, so we perfectly understand how enabling they are. For starters, our mechanic Fin comes out to his mobile service jobs on our LarryVsHarry Bullitt cargo bike with a custom trailer attached.

We’re very proud that we can have a green inner-city service vehicle option. Most of our team also ride cargo bikes to carry kids, do pickups, shipping and deliveries, general commutes across town, moving people around festivals, and even the casual beach couples rides down in St Kilda.

Which bikes fit into the cargo-bike/trike category?

Not every cargo-bike costs extra to service. There are a handful of bikes that fall in to the cargo-utility segment, however they’re neither more complex nor take more time to work through a service.

Kids Bike Service
$40-130
Service Duration: 20 – 60 mins

Since kids bikes come in many forms, the price and time spent depends on the size and requirements of each bike – this provides the best value for everyone.

Rough pricing expectancy:

12-16″ without gears: less than $50
20″ without gears: less than $75
20-24″ with gears: $50-100
26″ with gears: $80-150

Ensure your children’s bike lasts as it should, is easy to use the gears and brakes, and most importantly, is safe.

Please note: A minimum labor spend of $99 per call-out applies due to travel time and expenses, however, there is no actual call-out fee if you’re within the call-out free zone. Contact us if you’re unsure.

Suitable For:
  • 12/16/20/24″ kids bikes without gears
  • Kids bikes that have 2 sets of hand brakes and front + rear gears tend to move closer to General Service/Adults pricing due to their parts being the same as an adults bike. However, we can usually do them quicker than an adults. Our goal is to provide good value while meeting safety standards when it comes to kids bikes.

Sell-My-Bike Service
Suspension Fork 50hr Service
$100-180*
Service Duration: 40 – 60 min

*Price includes $100 of labor and $50-80 for genuine seals.

Don’t wait till its too late! Avoid expensive fork damage that remains hidden inside the fork until it is opened and inspected.

In this service, our aim is to return the fork back to the factory standard. We inspect for damage and correct damper function before replacing the tired, worn seals with new genuine ones. We replace the oil which has picked up dirt or vanished through the seals so that the fork bushes and stanchions are protected.

After re-assembling the forks we check the condition of the headset and give it a clean before re-fitting to the bike. Lastly, we help you get the correct air pressure and settings.

  • Remove forks completely from bike and clean them
  • Separate the upper and lower legs and clean the internals
  • Check for wear and damage
  • Replace genuine oils and seals
  • Clean headset and fittings
  • Re-assemble, fit to the bike, check brake pad alignment
  • Assist you with correct air pressure and settings

Recommended for mountain bike forks every year for most riders (riding 2-4 times per month), or every 6 months (if riding 1-2 times per week).

Most manufacturers recommend a lower fork leg/air can service every 50 hours of hard riding. How do we interpret the 50 hours? The time would be based upon riding where the suspension is quite active; for example you would count the time spent riding over rough rocks, roots and jumps, but you not count the time riding uphill and on road/fire trails.

We recommend this service for mountain bike forks every year for most riders (riding 2-4 times per month), or every 6 months (if riding 1-2 times per week).

Suspension Pivot Rebuild
$75-200*
Service Duration: 40 – 120 mins

*Price depends on frame type, number of pivots and difficulty

Don’t put up with a noisy bike and average bump absorption. Let us take care of those pivots.

Our aim is to keep your bearings and bushes in good shape so that they last, increase suspension performance, prevent play, and keep quiet.

  • Check bolt torque
  • Remove and inspect all pivot bushings or bearings
  • Clean all components
  • Replace waterproof grease inside sealed bearings
  • Replace worn bushings or bearings (extra parts cost if necessary)
  • Re-fit, torque to spec and test ride

Recommended for suspension frames every 1-2 years depending on the pivot system and ride conditions (more wet and mud riding requires this more often).

Rear Shock 50hr Air-Can Service
$135*
Service Duration: 30 – 50 min

*Includes $90 of labor and $45-80 for genuine seals and oil (Fox Float, basic RockShox. Some shocks for example the RS Deluxe cost extra for seals.

Don’t wait till its too late! Avoid expensive damage that remains hidden inside the shock until it is opened and inspected.

In this service, our aim is to return the shock back to the factory standard. We inspect for damage and correct damper function before replacing the tired, worn seals with new genuine ones. We replace the oil which has picked up dirt or vanished through the seals so that the stanchions are protected.

After re-assembling the shock we check the condition of the mounting hardware and give it a clean before re-fitting to the bike. Lastly, we help you get the correct air pressure and settings.

  • Remove shock completely from bike and clean
  • Remove air can, inspect for damage
  • Check for wear and damage
  • Remove all air can seals and replace with new genuine kit + oil
  • Check for correct damper and air spring function
  • Assist you with correct air pressure and settings
